Tell us about your journey. What drove you to pursue a career as a fashion designer ?
From an early age, I demonstrated a natural talent for art and drawing. Throughout high school, I realized that pursuing design would allow me to fully develop and combine all of my creative abilities. This led me to pursue a degree at the College of Design, Textile, Technology, and Management, where I earned a diploma in both fashion and textile design. At just 24, I was given the incredible opportunity to join a major fashion company as a fashion designer. Initially, I was responsible for designing collections for children and babies, but as my career progressed, I gained valuable experience in womenswear, menswear, sportswear, and knitwear. In 2012, I took a significant step in my career by creating my first independent collection, which was selected to be showcased at the Fashionclash Festival in the Netherlands. That moment marked the beginning of my journey in the fashion industry.
How would you define your aesthetic ?
I design fashion that speaks all the languages of the world. My aesthetic is a fusion of elements from various cultures, celebrating the spirit of multiculturalism. I use a vibrant mix of colors to emphasize the beauty of the world. My fashion blends the past, present, and future, honoring the richness of diverse cultures through bold, unique designs.
How do you approach the creative process ?
One thing I love about knitwear is that I design the fabric myself. It's the most interesting and the most complicated part of the process. I have to create magic using up to four colors in a single row. Once the fabric is created, I start designing clothes and bringing them to life. I strive to be sustainable and use every smallest piece of fabric that I make.
What does luxury mean to you ?
I believe luxury is more about heritage and craftsmanship than price. It’s the result of years, sometimes decades, of dedication to quality and tradition. Unfortunately, nowadays, luxury is more about effective marketing and high prices than true quality.
What are your main sources of inspiration ?
I travel a lot and find inspiration in the different cultures and landscapes I encounter. I also get inspired by fairy tales and architecture. I enjoy blending artistic styles from different cultures, fusing traditional, modern, and futuristic elements to create something unique.
Any advice for young designers looking to break into luxury fashion ?
